Mechanical forest industry

FTL Logistics is the carrier of forest industry products and raw materials. We handle direct deliveries of small and large consignments to customers and harbours according to the agreed delivery schedule.

We transport approximately 1.5 M tonnes or 2.9 M cubic metres of forest industry products annually. The transports are composed of sawn goods and boards such as plywood and chip boards and various other types of wood based boards. Deliveries to domestic users and retailers and export harbours are handled with a vehicle fleet with modern equipment and dimensions which can also be tailored for fixed size requirements. If required, our qualified drivers load and/or unload the products also outside regular working hours. Warehousing may also be part of the management of the whole delivery chain.

Mechanical forest industry by-products such as chips and sawdust are delivered to the chemical industry's processes and to power plants to be used as fuel.

Various types of vehicle bodies have been used to create versatility in the vehicle fleet, synergy for two-way transports of loose and solid products and efficient delivery processes.

Vehicles used in product deliveries are equipped with covered cargo spaces, side and roof opening cargo spaces and cargo spaces covered with a side curtain with a lifting mechanism. Various discharge solutions are used in bulk goods transports, such as dumping and chain equipment.

Knowledge management with the industry's real-time order and delivery system sends required information to the factory for production, to the planner for management purposes and to the builder from the time the site planning starts. A functioning delivery is always part of the delivery chain from the time the site planning starts. In large panel deliveries the trouble-free transport of large units requires constant communications between the planner and production and the builder's site.

Constant training of drivers on the significance of safety and schedules enables them to work with increased confidence.
